What To Know – Bacchanalian Society’s Fall Wine Gathering

Who is the Bacchanalian Society of Omaha? The Bacchanalian Society of Omaha is a not for profit charity organization focused on celebration and philanthropy. The name “Bacchanalian” comes from latin mythology where grape farmers would throw festivals to celebrate the mythological god of wine – fitting for a group who throws wine tasting events to share philanthropic messages. So how do you have a competitive wine tasting event? First, find one or two friends and register your team here. Your team needs to bring three bottles of the same wine – for this event you’ll need three bottles of the same white blend. There are no rules or regulations for which white blend you bring (ie. price or region). Spirit World in Aksarben is offering 10% off for all attendees who purchase their competition wine there! Two of each team’s bottles are bagged (this is a blind tasting) and ranked by all competitors. Each attendee gets a set of cards to vote on which they like or dislike. The five highest ranking teams divvy up the unopened bottles. Will there be food? YES! Food will be provided by Nothing Bundt Cakes, Flagship …

There were a lot of one-hit-wonders  & redundant hair bands  back in the hippie-dippie days, but stoking the obsession of every groovy girl & mustache wearin’ guy of the 60s, 70s & 80s were bands like Santana, Toto, Mr. Mister & Journey – all who humbly paid homage to Starr for inspiring a history of iconic sounds. Admittedly, I wasn’t sure what kind of stage presence to expect from the aged musicians – did you know Ringo is 74?!  To say I was blown away would be an understatement.  There is far too much to share about these musicians in one post. So, in sticking with the Turn It Up! theme of “exploring music with passion” I fully intend to pair …
